AR Rahman has agreed to conduct a concert in Chennai, once again for a noble cause. The Oscar winner will do it this time for The Shakti Foundation.

Speaking about this, Vasanth Raghuvir said, “That he’s chosen to give his first performance in Chennai for The Shakti Foundation — in spite of several other offers — empowers the children of Shakti and lends tremendous dignity to the cause.”

The event will be held on October 11th at the 60-acre spread Swarnabhoomi. A huge stage, measuring 80 by 120 feet, will be erected for the purpose.

The show will not only be a feast for the ears but for the eyes too with the organizers planning pyrotechnics and fireworks, according to G.R.K. Reddy, chairman and MD of the Marg Group, the sole sponsors of the event.
