The Tamil Film Producer’s Council has declared that hereafter all the Television and cable operators must pay Rs.1 lakh to get a film’s songs, scenes clippings and trailers except 6 channels.

Those are Dhoordarshan, Kalaignar TV, Sun TV, Jaya TV, Raj TV and Zee TV. These channels are regularly buying channel rights of new Tamil films. So the council has decided to provide all the necessary clippings of a film to them on free of cost. Other Channels must pay the amount fixed by the council.

All the cable TV operators those running their own local channels also have to pay this rate to the council.
The new regularities are implemented by the council right from today itself.
